Sakura-zaka
Sakura-zaka is a gentle slope continuing along the northeast side of Ark Hills. It was to have been created in the middle of the Meiji Era and received its name from the large sakura (Japanese cherry) trees standing at the foot of the slope. Although slightly smaller than the cherry trees on Spain-zaka, the trees are beautiful as the name suggests. During the cherry blossom season, the trees here, as well as those on Spain-zaka are lit up at night and the street glows like a soft pink tunnel. This is also recommended as a spot for viewing the cherry blossoms if you are here in the spring.
