Kikuchi Kanjitsu Kinen Tomo Bijutsukan

The modern pottery collector, Tomo KIKUCHI, opened this new museum in April 2003, to exhibit and introduce her collection. It is in the basement of a building that rises on the left side after you enter the gate. Glass railings radiate a sparkle like crystal as you descend the stairs to the exhibition room.

The stone and metal approach between the gate and the building and the metal entrance door were designed by Shinichi KITAMURA, who is known for his castings. After passing through the door, you can see the “Portrait of a Proprietress” by Toko SHINODA, a famous female Japanese artist, standing quietly at the end of the stone hallway welcoming visitors.
