This childrenfs story author was born in 1870. After graduating from the German Academic Association School, he joined Kenyusha which had been organized by novelist Ozaki Koyo and others. He published ""Koganemaru"" in 1891 and authored fairy tales as a creative childrenfs writer. Further, in recognition of his contribution to the introduction of childrenfs stories from countries around the world, he was awarded a second-class decoration by the country of Denmark in 1926. This site was purchased by Iwaya in 1907, and he lived here until his death in 1934. After that, it became the home of cartoonist Shimizu Kon and today serves as a company office. A monument stands behind the main hall of Zojo-ji (temple) (photo).
