One of the first garden cemeteries, it boasts of being the largest cemetery in Tokyofs 23 wards. Various trees such as cherry blossoms and others grow in the vast site 260,000 sq m site. The cemetery is well known for its beautiful cherry blossoms, and many people visit to view the lines of cherry trees. In your strolls through the park, you will find the graves of people such as Saito Mokichi resident of this area who served as director of the Aoyama Brain Hospital, Okubo Toshimichi (Metropolitan relic), Kunikida Doppo and other statesmen, scholars and literary figures prominent in Japanese history.
